Ocean Beach Christmas Tree hangin' in there!
For any of you that might have been worried about the tree, not to worry - it's hanging in there! Despite it's quarter turn, the tree is as secure today as it was the day it was installed. The bottom 8-10' of the tree is put into a metal sleeve under the sand, offering extra support and stability. The spin of this year's tree can be blamed on our extremely windy weather at the end of last week. "This has been a great tree this year - donated from the San Diego Zoo Safari Park - and we're hoping the weather doesn't take it down before the city plans to on December 29th," says Claudia Jack, the OB Tree Festival Chair.
As many of you know, having a unique tree is part of what makes the OB Christmas Tree so special. What are your memories of the OB Christmas Tree and other local Christmas events? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!
